MOMOS!

The tasty momos is always a good snack for a chilly weather.
Steamed momos is very healthy and can be substituted for salad.
Origin of momos or dumplings are not known. It's said that the people near north eastern part of India, Nepal, Tibet,China made momos. 
The traditional momo steamer is called mucktoo. 

Let's see how to make this delicious recipe!


Ingredients:

For the cover:
  • Maida.        - 1 cup
  • Salt              - according to the taste
  • Oil.               - 1 table spoon
  • Warm water - ¾ cup
For the filling
  •  Cabbage.    - 1 cup
  • Carrot.         - ½ cup (grated)
  • Onion.          - 1 cup
  • Beans.          - ½ cup
  • Chilli.           - 2 table spoons
  • Ginger.        - 1 table spoon
  • Garlic.         - 1 table spoon
  • Pepper.       - 2 table spoons


Recipe:

For the cover:
  • Add maida, salt and mix it well
  • Add some oil and give it a good mix
  • To this add warm water accordingly
  • Knead the dough to get a soft mix
  • Apply oil and rest the dough for 20 min

For the filling
  • Heat some oil in a pan, add ginger, garlic green chillies and saute for 1min
  • Add the chopped onions, cabbage, carrot, beans and saute for 2 min,do not over cook the vegetables.
  • Add salt and pepper to this and mix it well

Assembly:

Make a uniform circles of the dough and roll it thin puris, add the filling and close the dough into half and pleat it to get shapes of momo. 

Final step:

For steamed momos:
Steam these for 15-20min

For fried momos:
Steam the momos for 10min and fry it until golden brown
