FRENCH FRIES

Yes! The all time favourite snack!
Side of a burger, whopper, wrap or just fries, tastes the best.

But here's an interesting fact. Did you know that french fries was originally not from France?
According to National Geographic,
During world war 1, the American soldiers first came across this Savory side dish in Belgium. Since French was  the dominant Language in Belgium, it's called French fries!
July 13th is the National French fry day!
And Friet museum is the museum dedicated to French fries!!




Wanna know how to make this?
Here we go!
What we need?
Potatoes- 3 medium size
  • Slice the potatoes like so;



  • Boil water, add little bit of salt.
  • Add the sliced potatoes.
  • Wait for the starch to be released.
(You can identify by the white colour precipitate)

  • Boil the potatoes for 3-4minutes
  • Then, strain it and wash it with cold water.
  • Lay it on a cloth and pat it dry.

  • Freeze the potatoes for 30min

Next;
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Fry the freezed potatoes ¾th.


  • Freeze the potatoes again for 10-15min

  • Fry it again until crisp.
  • Add salt according to taste.
  • Add chilli powder or piri piri mix (if you want spice)

And the crispy, yummy french fries are ready to serve!
